Twitter to fight online harassment and abuse by ‘regular and consistent action’
After Twitter revealed its anti-extremist activities earlier this week, the company has now explained how it plans to counter online harassment and abuse. Twitter will install a new safety council that will include experts from the Samaritans, the Safer Internet Centre, and the Internet Watch Foundation. Instead of a specific project, the company envisages ‘regular and consistent action’ throughout the year, as ‘safety is never finished.’
