The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is an international business organisation devoted to promoting international trade and investment. ICC members include companies and business organisations from around 120 countries in the world.
ICC activities focus on three main areas: providing arbitration and alternative dispute resolution services, setting voluntary rules, guidelines and codes to facilitate business and promote good practices, and engaging in policy advocacy. The organisation also works to combating crimes affecting business, from piracy to counterfeiting and cybercrime.
A Commission on Digital Economy was established within ICC, with the aim to promote the global development of the digital economy and stable growth of information and communication technology, through advocacy, promotion of good practices, and the development of policy positions and practical tools. Some of the Commission’s specific areas of work include: cybersecurity, data protection and privacy, Internet and telecommunications, Internet governance, and domain names.
