7th Russian Internet Governance Forum
The 7th Russian Internet Governance Forum will take place on 7 April in Moscow, Russia. The event is hosted by the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ and supported by the Technical Center of Internet, the RF Ministry for Telecommunications and Mass Media, Kaspersky Lab, ICANN and RAEC.
The global Internet network is an entity beyond governments and borders. This is why the multistakeholder model, where knowledge and experience of governments, businesses, experts and Internet community come together to solve arising problems, is one of the best options to ensure safe and secure Internet use. By taking all opinions and comments into account, even controversial ones, it is possible to develop liberal, conscious and non-discriminating patterns for Internet governance.
The forum will include discussions devoted to the security of critical Internet infrastructure, global network management principles, and international cooperation. Experts from Russia, China, the United States and European countries will discuss what new institutions are required to ensure Internet operation and who should establish them, as well as try to agree on key issues of global network management policy.
