European Commission: Consultation on Next Generation Internet
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the topic of Next Generation Internet, inviting anyone interested to share views and ideas about the Internet of 2030.
The consultation, which is part of the Commission’s Next Generation Internet initiative, consists of questions related to specific technology areas that might become important for the Internet of the future, such as decentralised architectures, immersive environments, and networking solutions beyond Internet protocol (IP). The first set of questions is higher level and citizens oriented, while the latter part dives into specific technologies considered to be relevant in developing the next generation Internet.
A report with the results of the consultation will be published in January 2017.
