REIsearch: Public Consultation on the Future of the Internet
The European Commission has recently launched its Next Generation Internet Initiative, aimed at driving the development of a human-centric Internet, where technology is intended as a powerful tool to strengthen the shared European values of equality, fairness, inclusiveness, freedom, and democracy. To contribute to achieving this vision, REIsearch (a non-profit initiative co-funded by the European Commission) has launched a public consultation on the future of the Internet.
The consultation will include several surveys that will be published over the course of few weeks, asking for the public’s view on issues such as digital human rights, cybersecurity, network neutrality, artificial intelligence and other new technologies, and the impact of the digital world on jobs, health, government, and democracy.
In early June 2017, the survey data will be compiled and reflected in a report aimed to help inform EU policymakers on the concerns and priorities of the Internet users.
