[POSTPONED] Twelfth WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12)

8 Jun 2020 - 11 Jun 2020

Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan

*UPDATE: ‘After consulting with the Government of Kazakhstan, Director-General Roberto Azevêdo and General Council Chair David Walker have advised WTO members “that holding MC12 as previously agreed from 8-11 June will not be feasible.” The Director-General and Amb. Walker have reached out to WTO members to hear their views on this matter. Following these consultations, Amb. Walker will, when conditions permit, organise a special meeting of the General Council at which members can deliberate on the best way forward.

The Twelfth Ministerial Conference (MC12) will take place on 8-11 June 2020 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. It will be chaired by Bakhyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration.

The Ministerial Conference, which is attended by trade ministers and other senior officials from the organization’s 164 members, is the highest decision-making body of the WTO. Under the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the WTO, the Ministerial Conference is to meet at least once every two years.
