Council of Europe’s Ad hoc Committee for the Rights of the Child – First Meeting

28 Sep 2016 - 29 Sep 2016

Strasbourg, France

The first meeting of Council of Europe’s Ad hoc Committee for the Rights of the Child (CAHENF) will be held on 28-29 September, in Strasbourg, France.

The programme of the two-day meeting will include, among others, discussions on empowering, protecting, and supporting children in the digital environment.

CAHENF was created with the aim to oversee the implementation of the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child, to promote mainstreaming of children’s rights at the level of the organisation and its member states, and to facilitate exchanges of knowledge, good practices and experiences. One of the group’s specific task is to develop comprehensive guidelines for member states to empower, protect, and support children’s safe access to their rights on the Internet, in cooperation with relevant Council of Europe bodies.
