The International Trademark Association (INTA) is an international association of trademark owners and professionals in the field of intellectual property rights.

The Association has a wide membership, ranging from major corporations, to small and medium-sized enterprises, law firms, not-for-profit organisations, government agencies, and individual members (such as professors and students).

INTA’s work is dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property, protecting consumers, and promoting fair and effective commerce. The Association carries out advocacy activities aimed as fostering effective trademark laws and policies, and harmonise their implementation. In doing so, it elaborates and promotes models laws, prepares amicus briefs, testimonies, and submissions, and prepares reports on trademark and IPR-related issues. It also provides educational programmes and informational and legal resources of global interest.

INTA’s activities also cover issues related to the protection of trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the digital space. The Association is an active participant in ICANN, where it advocates for right protection mechanisms in the context of generic top level domains (gTLDs).
