Annual Privacy Forum 2017
The 2017 edition of the Annual Privacy Forum will be held on 7-8 June, in Vienna, Austria. The event is organised by the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology (DG CONNECT) of the European Commission, the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), and the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna.
The event will feature discussions and presentation of papers on issues related to privacy and data protection and their repercurssions on technology business, government, law, society, policy, and law enforcement. The aim of these discussions is to contribute to bridging the gap between research, business models, and policy, as well as to proposing new models and interpretations. Specific topics to be addressed include implementation aspects of ‘by design’ and ‘by defauls’ paradigms, modelling of data protection and privacy requirements, aspects of privacy impact and risk assessment, technical solutions for data portability, sustainable business models for privacy friendly online services, information and consent in online environments, trust services and security measures for the protection of personal data, and legal, technical, and organisational aspects of privacy and law enforcement.
The conference will bring together policy makers and implementers, data protection authorities, industry, consultants, non-governmental organisations, civil society, and law enforcement representatives.
