Arab Regional Forum on Future Networks
The ITU Arab Regional Office in collaboration with the Institut National des Postes et des Télécommunications INPT, the higher education institution of the National Agency for Telecommunications Regulation in Morocco, will host the Arab Regional Forum on ‘Future Networks: Regulatory and Policy Aspects in Converged Networks’ in Rabat, Morocco, on 19-20 May 2015.
This forum aims to discuss the effects of the changes we observe in the telecom sector and to getting ready for tomorrow by bringing together forward looking approaches and regulatory measures as well as measures to strengthen the collaboration between different players.
This forum will focus on the following points: how to maintain equal opportunities and achieve a balance between the various players in the new digital world: networks operators, developers, local and international service providers; preventing anti-competitive behaviors, what can national regulators do; how to build synergies between OTT players and ICT network operators; is regulatory intervention needed; how to treat the interactive online multimedia services; and regulations of overseas services providers versus domestic players.
