The 10th edition of the Computers, Privacy & Data Protection conference will take place on 25-27 January 2017, in Brussels, Belgium.

Focusing on legal, regulatory, academic, and technological developments in the field of privacy and data protection, the conference gathers academics, lawyers, practitioners, policy-makers, industry, and civil society from all over the world, offering them an arena to exchange ideas and discuss the latest emerging issues and trends.

The 2017 conference will be held under the theme ‘The age of intelligent machines’, and will feature a programme with more than 60 panels and workshops with a stimulating mix of academics, practitioners, regulators, and advocates, as well as multiple side events such as open debates, performances, and artistic interventions. Issues to be addressed during the discussions include privacy and data protection regulations, encryption, international data transfers, surveillance and privacy in smart cities, ethics and artificial intelligence, the data driven economy, digital rights and enforcement, privacy and security trade-offs in the Internet of Things, algorithm decision making and fundamental rights.
