Conference on Science, Innovation and ICTs of ECLAC
The second session of the Conference on Science, Innovation and Information and Communications Technologies of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will take place on 12-13 September, in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The Conference was established as a subsidiary body of ECLAC, with the aim to promote the development and improvement of national policies on science, technology, and innovation and those related to the progress of the information and knowledge society.
The 2017 session of the Conference will feature discussions on the development strategies of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the role playes in these strategies by the digital revolution and by innovation. On the basis of examples and good practices, the event will aim to identify common areas of action for moving towards a working agenda on science, technology, and innovation in the region. The programme of the conference will include sessions on issues such as: cooperation opportunities in the innovation and digital ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean, the industrial Internet (the incorporation of the Internet of Things in productive processes), on-demand economy, and hyper-connectivity infrastructure.
