Danish IGF 2014

The Future Internet Conference 2014 (Danish IGF)

Monday 15 September 2014, 08:30 – 18:00

Throughout the years Denmark has been an active contributor in the international deliberations on Internet Governance and has participated intensively in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) since the forum’s creation in 2005.

Every year since 2009 Denmark has hosted one of the world’s largest national IGFs, a success that the organisers intend to continue this September in Copenhagen under the overall theme of TRUST.

This year the Danish Ministry of Business and Growth will renew the format of the conference by merging with the Danish Internet Forum conference “the Internet Day” to present the largest Danish Internet con-ference yet – the largest national IGF in the Nordic region! Three parallel tracks will allow for 12 workshops in addition to a high level political panel debate. As always the conference is organised with stakeholders from civil society, the business sector, academia, government, interna-tional organisations and the technical community. They’ll be presenting their view on trust in, and to, the Internet by shining a light on the political, judicial as well as technical aspects of the internet and its governance.

Key note speaker, Cory Doctorow, will talk about “the web we (don’t) want.”
