European Summer School on Internet Governance
The 2106 edition of the European Summer School on Internet Governance (EuroSSIG) will be held on 16-23 July 2016, in Meissen, Germany. The summer school, now at its 10th edition, is organised by Mediestadt Leipzig e.V., with support of the University of Aarhus, and a large number of other entities.
The aim of EuroSSIG is to help interested individuals (students, academics, representative of the business sector, as well as of public entities) to understand better the global Internet governance ecosystem, and to get a comprehensive and structured knowledge on the various aspects of Internet governance. The one week academic course covers the political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, technological, and other dimensions of the governance of the Internet. The course includes also practical oriented lectures covering the management of critical Internet resources as well as the development of the domain name market.
The programme for EuroSSIG 2016 covers topics such as: the Internet governance ecosystem; cybersecurity’ technical regulation and management; innovation, new technologies, and services; future challenges and perspective in Internet governance; the multistakeholder Internet governance model; etc.
