Global Innovation Forum 2016
The Global Innovation Forum (GIF) 2016 will be held on 20-23 September, in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia. The event is organised by The World Technopolis Association and Tangerang Selatan City, in close cooperation with UNESCO and the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.
The theme of GIP 2016 is ‘Innovation for Sustainable Development’. The forum is aimed to promote a culture of innovation, technopreneurship, and the transfer of knwoledge and echnolgy, in the interests of global economic development. It will bring together research professionals, policy-makers, players in the hi-tech sector, and civil society organisations, to share knowledge and experience on how innovation can contribute to economic, environmental, and social benefits, and drive sustainable development. The Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals will be part of the discussions.
The forum will host three plenary sessions on: ‘Science and Technology Park (STP) policies: Academia-Industry-Government collaborations context’, ‘Entrepreneurship development: SMEs’ context’, and ‘Innovation clusters & sustainable development: Innovation clusters’ context’. There will also be two thematic special sessions on ‘Smart city development’ and ‘Creative economy (Green business)’.
