Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-17)
The 17th edition of the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR) will be held on 11–14 July 2017, in Nassau, Bahamas. The GSR is organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Government of Bahamas.
Pre-events – a Thematic Pre-Conference, the Global Dialogue on Digital Financial Inclusion, the Regional Regulatory Associations Meeting, and 8th Private Sector Chief Regulatory Officers Meeting – will take place on 11 July and the morning of 12 July.
GSR-17 will be held under the theme ‘Living in a World of Digital Opportunities’. Sessions included in the event’s programme will foster dialogue among policymakers, regulators, and information and communication technology (ICT) players on best practices in regulating ICT/telecommunications. The GSR will also examine how the sector interacts with regulation from other sectors, with a view to outlining principles and rules that create opportunities for all. Other topics to be discussed at the event include blockchain and artificial intelligence, reliability of networks and devices, access to ICTs, and roaming in the digital world.
