IETF 102 Montreal
The 102nd meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) will be held on 14–20 July 2018, in Montreal, Canada where over 1 000 engineers will discuss open Internet standards and protocols.
On 14 and 15 July, the IETF Hackathon and the IETF Codesprint will be held, together with newcomers’ training and technical tutorial sessions. Following the weekend events, the IETF will continue with the Applied Networking Research Workshop (ANRW 2018) which will be held on 16 July. On 17 July, the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (GCSC) will be organising a ‘Cyber Diplomacy Meets InfoSec and Technology’ panel with panellists:
- Irina Rizmal, research fellow at the DiploFoundation specialised in policy analysis in matters pertaining to national security and defense.
- Bill Woodcock, commissioner and executive director at Packet Clearing House, a non-profit agency that supports critical Internet infrastructure.
- Jeff Moss, commissioner, founder of Black Hat and Defcon, member of the DHS security council, and former ICANN CSO.
Other events include a technical plenary which will be livestreamed, and three Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions focusing on DNS resolver identification and use, internationalisation review procedures, and the label ‘RFC’.
