Indigenous Connectivity Summit
The Internet Society (ISOC) hosts an annual two-day conference to bring indigenous leaders together with community members, Internet service providers, policymakers, community network operators, and researchers. This year’s Indigenous Connectivity Summit will take place on 12-13 November 2019 at the University of Hawai’i, Hilo, Hawaii.
The goal of the summit is ‘connecting indigenous communities to fast, affordable, and sustainable Internet’. The summit aims to build relationships and lobby for regulatory changes that will help achieve this goal. Finally, the summit will share success stories of indigenous connectivity to inspire other communities and stakeholders.
ISOC invites everyone to participate, stating that ‘When it comes to connecting communities, we need as many people as possible on board’.
