International Conference on Cyber Conflict

30 May 2017 - 2 Jun 2017

Tallinn, Estonia

The ninth International Conference on Cyber Conflict (CyCon) will be held on 30 May – 2 June 2017, in Tallinn, Estonia.

Organised by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, the conference will focus on the fundamental aspects of cybersecurity, under the theme ‘Defending the Core’. It will bring together decision-makers and experts from government, military, and industry from all over the world, for disussions on the legal, technology, and startegy perspectives of cybersecurity.

Some of the questions to be tackled during CyCon 2017 include: How can the ‘core’ elements of cybersecurity be defined? How do they relate to the essential assets and principles in the technical, legal and political spheres? How can critical (information) infrastructure be protected? How can critical vulnerabilities be mitigated and the most detrimental threats countered? How can legal frameworks be established and applied in the cybersecurity realm? What technologies can help nations to counter emerging cyber threats? How can effective cybersecurity strategies be developed and implemented? What should be the role of the armed forces? How can cyber operations against core (national) assets be deterred?

Registration will be open in early March.
