ITF Summit: Transport Innovation for Sustainable Development
The ITF Summit is an annual event held every May in Leipzig by the ITF Secretariat with guidance from member state’s transport ministries and in consultation with stakeholders. This year’s ITF Summit will be held under the theme Transport for inclusive societies with a primary focus on:
- Fostering access for all
- Promoting access to economic activities
- Ensuring an open and inclusive transport labor market
- Improving transport’s impact on health, safety and security
- Designing governance frameworks for inclusive transport
Over 1400 participants from more than 80 countries, well beyond the 63 member countries of the ITF, will talk about innovative technologies and business models in transport focusing primarily on how they could be further advanced to enable social inclusion, while also promoting sustainability and economic growth. Accessibility, new mobility, working on resilience and equity, and many more current and emerging issues relevant to inclusive transport will be disused during the three-day program.
Consultation with International Organizations, open dialogue around the main themes of the summit such as inclusivity and gender issues, was held in January this year as a prequel to the event.
