ITU Council – 2018 Session
The 2018 session of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council will be held on 17–27 April 2018 at the ITU’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
ITU Council 2018 will be preceeded by the Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations (EG-ITRs), and by the Council Working Group on small form-factor pluggable (SFP).
The ITU Council acts as the ITU’s governing body in the interval between Plenipotentiary Conferences. Its role is to consider broad telecommunication policy issues to ensure that the ITU’s activities, policies, and strategies fully respond to today’s dynamic, rapidly changing telecommunications environment. The session will cover general policy, strategy and planning; ITU events; administration and management; and other reports and matters for consideration.
Registration for this year’s session began on 15 January 2018 and will be carried out exclusively online. Contributions to the Council can be submitted until 3 April 2018. For more information, visit the event website.
