ITU-D Study Group 2 Rapporteur Group Meetings
Between 18 and 27 January 2017, the Study Group 2 of the International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) – tasked with studying issues related to ICT applications, cybersecurity, emergency telecommunications and climate-change adaptation – will hold several Rapporteur Group meetings:
- 18 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 8/2: Strategies and policies for the proper disposal or reuse of telecommunication/ICT waste material
- 19 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 6/2 : ICT and climate change
- 19 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 9/2: Identification of study topics in the ITU-T and ITU-R study groups which are of particular interest to developing countries
- 19 January: Working Party 1/2 meeting: Questions related to climate change, environment and emergency telecommunications
- 20 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 7/2: Strategies and policies concerning human exposure to electromagnetic fields
- 23 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 5/2 : Utilization of telecommunications/ICTs for disaster preparedness, mitigation and response
- 24 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 1/2 : Creating the smart society: Social and economic development through ICT applications
- 25 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 4/2 : Assistance to developing countries for implementing conformance and interoperability programmes
- 26 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 2/2 : Information and telecommunications/ICTs for e-health
- 27 January: Rapporteur Group meeting for Question 3/2 : Securing information and communication networks: Best practices for developing a culture of cybersecurity
All meetings will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, at the ITU Headquarters.
ITU-D Study Groups provide an opportunity for all ITU member states and sector members (including associates and academia) to share experiences, present ideas, exchange views, and achieve consensus on appropriate strategies to address ICT priorities. ITU-D Study Groups are responsible for developing reports, guidelines, and recommendations based on input received from the membership. The Study Groups examine specific task-oriented telecommunication/ICT questions of priority to developing countries, to support them in achieving their development goals.
