ITU Workshop on 5G Security
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will be organising a workshop on 5G security on 19 March 2018 at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The workshop will precede the next ITU Telecommunication Standardisation Sector (ITU-T) Study Group 17 meeting to be held from 20-29 March 2018 at the same venue.
The workshop aims to build a bridge between ITU’s technical expertise and the security requirements of stakeholders interested in implementing secure 5G. Objectives for the workshop include:
- To better understand evolving threats landscape
- To identify security requirements from 5G manufacturers, telecommunication operators, regulators, and application providers
- To share the on-going activities among relevant groups
- to identify potential directions including new topics or ongoing work requiring collaboration among relevant groups mentioned above
Participation is open to, inter alia, ITU Member States, ICT regulators, policymakers, ICT service/platform providers, mobile operators, international standard organisations, NGOs related to security and privacy protection. Participation is free-of-charge but no fellowships will be granted.
