OECD Global Forum on Digital Security for Prosperity
The inaugural edition of the OECD Global Forum on Digital Security for Prosperity will be held on 13-14 December 2018 in Paris, France.
The OECD Global Forum on Digital Security for Prosperity was launched in early 2018 to champion multilateral and multistakeholder dialogue on digital security for economic prosperity. It was created in acknowledgement of the fact that digital transformation of economies and societies can spur innovation, generate efficiencies, improve services, bolster sustainable growth and enhance well-being. To harvest these benefits, countries need digital security policies that build trust in the digital environment and enhance co-ordination between the different communities and actors.
The inaugural conference in December 2018 will explore the roles and responsibilities of the private sector, in particular the ICT industry, to help reduce the level of digital security risk globally, building on initiatives such as the Cybersecurity Tech Accord and the Charter of Trust.
The Global Forum is supported by the Committee on Digital Economy Policy and its Working Party on Security and Privacy in the Digital Economy. These bodies lead the OECD’s analytical and policy work on digital security and digital economy policy issues. The Global Forum will enable them to reach out to a broader community of stakeholders to inform their work and disseminate good practice.
