Second ITU/WMO/UNEP Workshop on AI for Natural Disaster Management
The International Telecommunications Union will hold the 2nd workshop on AI for Natural Disaster Management on 23 June 2021.
The workshop is organised together with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) to explore the uses of artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting natural disaster prediction/early warning as well as improving our understanding of hazards and disasters. The workshop will elaborate on the role that AI plays (or could play) to support data collection and handling, improve modeling across spatiotemporal scales, and provide effective communication in the event of a natural disaster.
The focus group workshops are freely open to ITU Member States, Sector Members, Associates and Academic Institutions and to any individual from an ITU member country. This includes individuals who are members of international, regional and national organizations. After the workshop, the second meeting of the ITU/WMO/UNEP Focus Group on AI for Natural Disaster Management (FG-AI4NDM), will take place on 24-25 June 2021.
Registration is mandatory to attend the workshop. Please note that separate registration is required to attend the FG-AI4NDM meeting. For more information, please refer to the official website.
