WIPO Conversation – Intellectual Property and the Metaverse

The seventh session of WIPO Conversation on Intellectual Property and Frontier Technologies will take place on March 29 and 30, 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland and remotely. The upcoming session will focus on Intellectual Property and the metaverse.

The WIPO Conversation session facilitates discussion and capacity development among the broadest possible set of stakeholders on the impact on IP of frontier technologies. The usage and implementation of frontier technologies to aid IP Offices and IP owners, as well as policies-related talks, are among the topics covered in the Conversation.

The seventh session of WIPO Conversation will examine the metaverse, its enabling frontier technologies, and the problems they pose to the current IP system. The session’s primary purpose is to give a road map for navigating these challenges to guarantee that innovation continues and develops for the benefit of all, as well as to ensure that the intellectual property (IP) system continues to foster innovation and creation and that the systems for IP administration evolve.
