WTO’s 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13)
The 13th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference (MC13) is scheduled to occur from 26 to 29 February 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Serving as the topmost decision-making body of the WTO, the conference will convene trade ministers and other high-ranking officials representing the organisation’s 164 members. During the event, an assessment of the multilateral trading system’s functionality will take place, alongside decisions on various matters falling under the purview of the multilateral trade agreements. The decision to host MC13 in the UAE was endorsed during a General Council meeting in December 2022, with H.E. Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi elected as the Chairperson for the conference.
The Ministerial Conference, convening biennially, holds the highest authority within the WTO. It brings together all WTO members, comprising countries or customs unions, enabling decisions on various issues covered by the multilateral trade agreements.
