Philippine: ISP block 88,000 sites containing child sexual abuse material
Telecom and ISP provider PLDT, Inc., formerly known as the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company has reported to have blocked about 88,000 sites and links containing online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC). It may be mentioned that PLDT is one of the first Philippine digital service providers to become a member of UK-based Internet Watch Foundation for protecting children online.
PLDT has also informed that it is investing over 2 billion Philippine peso for setting up a cyber security operations center that includes a Child Protection Platform solution.
