Google launches WiFi for Indian train stations
Google, in partnership with the Indian state company RailTel, is launching its previously announced plans to provide Internet Wi-Fi access for up to 400 railway stations in India. Using the network of fiber-optic lines built by RailTel along most major railway tracks (covering over 26,000 for now), Google will support Wireless Access Points at train stations. Internet services at the stations are to be free and unrestricted, though Google plans to make them ‘self-sustainable to allow for expansion to more stations and other places. Source
