Killnet launched DDoS attacks in retaliation for Germany’s backing of Ukraine
Killnet launched DDoS attacks against German websites, including governmental and financial sectors, in response to Germany supporting Ukraine. No major damage was reported.
Several public and private websites in Germany have been targeted by a series of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assaults. The attacks have been confirmed by the Germans Federal Cybersecurity Agency (BSI).
According to the BSI announcement, attacks targeted the governmental and financial sector, including sites of private companies and airports. However, the agency stated that no major damage was done.
Killnet, a pro-Russian hacktivist collective, took responsibility, and it is believed the attacks were carried out in retaliation for Germany’s plans to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks.
