RSF’s Operation Collateral Freedom allows access to over 80 banned media websites in 24 countries
RSF’s Operation Collateral Freedom has unblocked access to over 80 media websites in 24 countries, allowing national and international media to avoid arbitrary blocking measures.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) announced that it had unblocked access to over 80 media websites in 24 countries, including Russia, Belarus, China, Myanmar, Togo and Mali. RSF’s Operation Collateral Freedom, launched in 2015 to combat online media censorship, is responsible for access to these previously banned media sites. National and international media have avoided arbitrary blocking measures thanks to Operation Collateral Freedom’s creation of mirror sites hosted on servers outside the jurisdiction of press freedom predators.
