Satellite technology advances digital rights by enhancing Mexico’s ‘Internet for All’ initiative.

CFE Telecommunications’ ‘Internet for All’ initiative is using AXESS Networks to connect up to 700 additional 4G sites via satellite in remote areas of Mexico, positioning themselves as the leader in Latin America’s satellite cellular backhaul market and advancing digital rights through increased connectivity.

Through AXESS Networks, CFE Telecommunications’ ‘Internet for All’ (CFE TEIT) initiative assigned between 18 and 36 pockets of capacity with the potential to connect up to 700 additional 4G sites via satellite in difficult-to-reach areas of Mexico, maintaining compliance with the National Development Plan 2019–2024 of the Presidency of the Republic. With more than 1,300 nodes connected and more than 10 Gbps of capacity specifically allocated to this vertical, Red Compartida and CFE TEIT are positioning themselves as the market leader in Latin America’s satellite cellular backhaul market with the addition of these new nodes to the more than 650 that they already connect in the nation through AXESS. Additionally, AXESS offers service to more than 2,400 internet points in Mexico. The goal of advancing digital rights is furthered by using satellite technology to increase the ‘Internet for All’ initiative for connectivity.
