Twitter sues four entities in Texas over alleged data scraping
Twitter has filed a lawsuit against four entities in Texas, accusing them of data scraping and seeking over $1 million in damages.
Twitter filed a lawsuit against four unnamed entities in Texas, the USA, over alleged data scrapping from which they sought monetary relief of more than $1 million. Elon Musk reiterated that the daily tweet reading restriction was due to the data scrapping conducted by several entities. Reuters reports that the widespread criticism of the tweet reading limits has reportedly benefited the recently launched app Threads, which garnered over 100 million signups in just five days. According to the lawsuit, the amount of signup requests originating from the IP addresses of the four defendants was significantly higher than what a person would typically send to someone. The case will be heard at the Dallas County, Dallas district court.
