The President of El Salvador delivered a speech at UNGA 78

During his speeches to the General Assembly’s seventy-eighth session, President Nayib Armando Bukele of El Salvador emphasised the country’s dedication to sovereignty and self-determination, even in the face of international scrutiny, and highlighted the significance of every nation’s right to self-governance for customised solutions.
President continued by stating that, El Salvador has experienced a remarkable transformation in recent years in terms of its security situation; it has now emerged as the safest country in Latin America. This shift signifies a dramatic reduction in violence; civilians now enjoy a secure environment where they can freely roam the streets and children can play safely in parks. Additionally, these significant security improvements have enhanced the country’s attractiveness, attracting visitors and investors.

The country’s partnership with the tech giant, Google is a clear sign of its burgeoning economy. The agreement to digitalise the state and its services showcases El Salvador as an enticing investment destination. Key to El Salvador’s success has been its staunch commitment to sovereignty and self-determination. Decisions by the government, including alterations to the public prosecutor’s office and judicial systems, have been instrumental in enhancing security. Despite facing international criticism, El Salvador stuck to its autonomous decisions and experienced positive changes.
