Poland delays 5G auction
The Polish telecommunication regulator Urzad Komunikacji Elektronicznej (UKE) has delayed the country’s auction of the 5G capable 3.6 GHz spectrum. In March, applications were opened for the auction of 4 national licenses for the next 15 years. The delay is attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic and was postponed to an unspecified date. Auctions of 5G spectrum were also postponed in Portugal, Austria, Spain, France, and the Czech Republic. The Slovakian regulator decided to proceed with the national auction of 5G-capable spectrum amid the pandemic.
