Internet shutdown persists in Myanmar for twelfth consecutive night
According to a news report, Myanmar’s internet remained down for the twelfth night in a row with national connectivity falling 14% below ordinary levels on 26 February 2021. The curfew-style internet disruption, which sees the internet in Myanmar down across all networks from 01:00 to 09:00 local time has been greatly criticised by activists as a deliberate effort by military authorities to stifle freedom of expression in the country. However, Netblocks recorded that the military-run network operator Mytel came online at the same time that all other networks were down.
