In India a 22 member panel consisting of government officials, linguistic and policy experts, and business representatives is workin with ICANN to ‘help the non-English speaking population in India access web addresses in their local scripts’ by introducing local language domain names. The project aims to increase the production of regional content, as people will be encouraged to produce more content in their local languages. Read the compelte article here.
