Facebook no longer excludes posts asserting Covid-19 was man-made
Facebook has changed its content policy and no longer bans posts claiming Covid-19 was man-made, given the ongoing investigations into the origin of the pandemic. Facebook had banned the claim as part of its initiative to remove false claims about the virus and vaccines. In February, the platform published in its content policy page that ‘following consultations with leading health organizations, including the World Health Organization, we are expanding the list of false claims we will remove to include additional debunked claims about the coronavirus and the vaccines’. Facebook changed its content policy after the Wall Street Journal reported that the US intelligence sources consider that evidence requires further investigation of the lab leak theory.
