Government of Malawi strives to drive internet cost down to improve access
The minister of information of Malawi according to a news report, has stated that the government is negotiating with the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with the aim of driving the cost of internet in the country. The minister, Mr. Gospel Kazato, recognized that a stable and affordable internet will serve as a catalyst for the launch of digital programmes by the government. Mr. Kazato stated these positions during the launch of the Luntha ndi Chuma Digital Skills and Innovation Grant, a scheme meant to fund the development of digital and entrepreneurial skills and create employment for the youth. About 5000 youth are expected to benefit under the programme.
