Facebook’s internet cable to connect Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan
Tech giant Facebook is laying undersea internet cables to connect Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines and Taiwan. Dubbed ‘Project Apricot’, the cable is expected to provide better 4G, 5G and broadband internet connection in the region, and is likely to be laid by 2024. That initiative is an addition to another undersea cable between Singapore, Indonesia and North America that resulted from a cooperation between Facebook, Google and a number of Asian telecommunications companies.
