Apple obtains a patent in the US for a new type of encryption

Following an application submitted in September 2016, Apple has recently been granted with a patent for a new type of encryption, by the US Patent and Trademark Office. The method, called ’multi-block cryptographic operation’, is aimed to encrypt data in a way that would make locks even more difficulty to break. According to CNN, the method seems to be intended to ‘keep people from pirating media by making illegal copies of digital music, photographs and videos’.
