Australian company pays AUD$310,800 fine for spam law breaches
Kogan Australia Pty Ltd has paid a AUD$310 800 fine for breaching Australian spam laws.
An investigation carried out by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) found Kogan had sent marketing emails to more than 42 million consumers without an option to easily unsubscribe. ACMA investigations found Kogan’s conduct breached the Spam Act, which mandates commercial electronic messages to contain a functional unsubscribe option.
