Bulgarian legislation implementing GDPR ruled unconstitutional
The Bulgarian Constitutional Court ruled that an article of the implementing legislation of the GDPR at the national level is unconstitutional. According to the Sofia Globe, one of the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act was challenged due to its vagueness and the risk of arbitrary interpretations it could have led to. The provision in question detailed ten criteria to assess whether journalists have complied with the balance between the right to information and that of personal data protection.
