Child Protection Committees Scotland urges Scots to protect children online
Child Protection Committees Scotland (CPCScotland) which comprises a group of professionals working to improve child protection in Scotland has urged parents and caregivers to take proactive steps to protect children online.
Highlighting the Easter holidays, CPCScotland shared that as children spend more time online and especially during holidays, it is important to protect them from abuse and exploitation online.
CPCScotland shared that the key to helping children be safe online was for parents to be curious of what they do online, develop an open and friendly relationship with them where they can have open discussions on what they do online, who they talk to etc; visit website such as Internet Matters, NSPCC, Net Aware, Thinkuknow, and UK Safer Internet Centre, for more knowledge on how to protect children online and report incidents if they occur.
