Civil society organisations from around the world write to Facebook on net neutrality
Around 30 civil society groups from around the world sent an open letter to Mark Zuckerber on Facebook’s ‘net neutrality advocacy in India’. Signatories complain about the fact that, in its attempt to attract support for its Free Basics programme, the company ‘asserts statistics and arguments […] that lack proper sourcing and that rely on straw man arguments’. The letter notes that Facebook ‘should support affordable access to the entire internet for everyone, not access only to those services that Facebook or its partners deem acceptable.’
