CoE releases guidelines on children’s data protection in education settings
The Council of Europe’s (CoE) Consultative Committee of Convention 108 adopted the Children’s Data Protection in an Education Setting Guidelines during the 40th plenary meeting organised between 18-20 November. Currently, various education tools that are designed for teaching, supervising, and assessing children are created without considering threats they could pose to children’s privacy and personal data protection. The guidelines layout the fundamental principles of children’s rights in an educational setting and aim to help legislators, policymakers, data controllers, and the industry to uphold these rights.
