CommScope suffers data breach after a ransomware attack
Almost two weeks after the attack, the Russian-linked Vice Society claimed CommScope as a victim on the home page of its dark web leak site.
CommScope, a major US telecommunications and IT infrastructure company, has confirmed that it was hit by a ransomware attack in March. Almost two weeks after the attack, the Russian-linked Vice Society claimed CommScope as a victim on the home page of its dark web leak site.
The attack compromised sensitive employee data, including social security numbers and bank account details. CommScope responded that there was ‘no evidence’ that any customer data had been compromised as a result of the attack and that there had been no disruption to business operations. CommScope did not disclose any information regarding the nature of the security breach in its systems.
Vice Society has been linked to a series of cyberattacks on the healthcare and education sectors since 2022 and has recently turned its attention to the manufacturing sector.
