Companies need to pay more attention to IoT security, says AT&T report
A report published by AT&T on the security of the Internet of Things underlines that, as more and more organisations adopt Internet of Things technologies, they need to pay more attention to the related security implications. A survey conducted among over 5000 organisations around the world shows that 85% of these organisations are considering, exploring, or implementing an IoT strategy, and one third of them have more than 5000 IoT connected devices (each). At the same time, 90% of organisations lack full confidence in their IoT security, while 68% of them plan to invest in increasing this security in 2016. In this context, the report emphasizes the fact that ‘security must be the bedrock of IoT development’ and that IoT security must be integrated within existing cybersecurity policies and systems.
