Decent Life project: 1,300 villages in Egypt to be connected to optical fiber
Egypt’s ICT minister has announced that some 1,300 villages in Egypt will be connected to optical fiber as part of the ‘Decent Life’ project. Under this initiative, 4,584 villages representing 58% of Egypt’s population are expected to be connected to the internet. Launched in 2019 and with an estimated investment worth of EGP 515 billion, the project is aimed at ensuring the participation of rural populations in the digital transformation of the country.
