Digital education should be included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has called for the inclusion of access to digital education in the sustainable development goals (SDGs) featured in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The ACU claims that digital education is key to achieving equity in access to education, including tertiary learning, and has therefore taken the initiative to the UN. As part of its efforts, the ACU aims to highlight the critical role of online learning in promoting education, and request for the distribution of means to enable students to study remotely. The ACU is expected to publish the results of a recent survey to the UN where it found the considerable inequalities that exist in accessing digital learning.
